The breed is also referred to as Teddy Bear or Zuchon. They are playful and lively, but also gentle and calm.The temperment is  a gentle, self assured and well mannered dog. The Shichon is friendly with everyone and loves to sit near you.

The Shichon is a great choice for allergy suffers due to the fact they do not shed. Most enjoy baths and are easy to groom. This breed could be considered the ultimate lap dog.
